In the “Breaking News” workshop, students step into the role of journalists and work as reporters covering a major event: a historic meeting between the leaders of the seven Emirates. Throughout the session, students learn how to write breaking news and main headlines while practicing how to prepare reports and conduct interviews. Through this engaging activity, students discover what it felt like for people to witness the founding of the United Arab Emirates.

Please note, this workshop is open to Arabic and Non Arabic speakers who want to test out their Arabic skills as mini journalists. This workshop is being offered as a part of a 6 week online Arabic Media Program held in June 2026. However, that is not a prerequisite to join this in person workshop.
